DP Challenge. Day 1.

—————

While a lot of my friends are attending midnight mass right now, which i also wanted to attend; i can’t help but wonder…how many of them believe in the spirit of Christmas? Believe in what Jesus stood for, his teachings? Or even know anything about him?

I know there are a lot of people who will be wishing each other “Merry Christmas” without knowing the full story behind the man who was (as many people may dispute it), the “Son of God”.

My aunt, wrote a book on Jesus. Or rather, about how Jesus traveled around the world, spreading the word of love, brotherhood and One God. http://www.amazon.com/s?_encoding=UTF8&field-author=Mantoshe%20Singh%20Devji&ie=UTF8&search-alias=books&sort=relevancerank. You can check out the book here, its a different take on his life and i don’t intend to hurt any religious sentiments here.

I helped her with the initial research when i was a teenager…where she introduced me to Christ and his teachings…his life…and how little we may actually know about it. But i think he was a great man. And the Sermon on the Mount was one of my favorite stories when i was growing up.

I maybe a Sikh by birth, but i love Christ. And on this particular Christmas eve, i just wish we had another person like him who could unite all of us…there is just so much of pain in this world. I know there are a lot of things i could wish for. Like being close to my family. Or that my boyfriend was here…to collect the box of chocolates and card that i got for him, but he’s with his friends…(sigh)or that i had enough time this week to buy better decorations for my Christmas tree!I will definitely do that tomorrow though!

But what do i actually want to wish for?

A better world.Do i sound like one of those Miss World Contestants? Hehehe.

But on a more serious note,I pick up the newspaper everyday and i am so so…soooo very tired tired of seeing bad news. I want good news! Good things to happen! The human race to be actually HUMAN! And that is my Christmas wish for 2012.

Merry Christmas y’all. And happy holidays.
