How many of us hate customer care reps? *raises hands*

I was pretty nasty to one today and felt quite smug about it. 

“Stupid Idiots”, i muttered to myself. Then i thought about it for a minute more and felt a little guilty. It must be a really tough job – calling up people and asking them to talk to you. I’ve done a lot of cold calling in my job and let me tell you…it is not and i repeat, NOT one of my favourite activities. In fact, i quite loathe it. 

I believe all customer care related work should get automated…i mean if its just a machine talking then one need not get too offended – right? Or even the machine would not really care.

I don’t like being nasty to people who work in  BPO’s…but sometimes it can be a bit annoying. Especially when they keep on calling you over and over again to sell insurance. In broken english. I don’t mean to get on a high horse or something but right when i am smack bang in the middle of making an important presentation, they message/call.

“Excooos me madam, do you has time to talk?”

“No, i don’t, **** off”.

Well, that’s what i want to say most of the time. But i end up just cutting the call most of the time. Rude, isn’t it? But i really don’t have time to talk to someone selling insurance.

Especially when i am covered.



But really, one should be nice to them. Like they say, what goes around comes around – and it must be a very frustrating job…requiring a lot of patience.

So i have resolved never to be rude to any of them again.
