The power of an apology.

“An apology is the super glue of life. It can repair just about anything.”

– Lynn Johnston

Vacationing at home, i have a lot of time to think about things and life, yes thinking is a luxury in the hustle and bustle of life.

And when my mind starts tImageo wander, it sometimes brings to the surface thoughts which have been suppressed for a very long time since they only bring pain. And then i thought…what would make the pain go away? Somethings are so hard to forget, so difficult to forgive. And how do you forgive or forget when you know the person who hurt you would never apologize to you?

Ah…one should be big enough, mature and strong enough to charge on at life without a silly apology, isn’t it?

Or maybe not.

Maybe a simple, “I’m sorry” would have helped. It just takes that one line to make your heart lighter.

But not everyone can apologize. No, they are either cowards…or egoistic or too stubborn to acknowledge that they could be wrong. And maybe they don’t know that by hurting someone else, they’ll suffer someday as well.

I know for a fact that a heartfelt apology is like a balm for a broken heart. I never got mine. And i made my peace with it. But in my heart of heart, i still wish there were better people out there.
