bhagat_singh_1929_140x190I will be writing about Bhagat Singh…just a few lines about this brave man. Born in 1907 and martyred in 1931 at just 23 years…he was a revolutionary and one of the biggest contributors towards the struggle for India’s independence from the British Empire. He was a Sikh (it is a religion in India to which I belong) and he was an inspiration for many people to join the movement for freedom.

No one really talks a lot about him…like they do about Gandhi or Nehru. He was one of the people who supported in fighting against the British…unlike Gandhi who advocated Ahimsa or non – violence. I don’t know why, but I have a feeling that if he had survived, India would have gained freedom earlier.

There has always been a lot of conjecture about the right way India could have put an end to being a slave of the British Raj…but I will not get into all of that since I do not really encourage political discussions.

Here’s a link to the wikipedia page if you want to read more about him.
